Dear reader,
It is such a delight to discover that one shares some common interest with people one admires. Interest outside the domain of what one admires them for, of course. While reading a book called Telling Tales by Amit Chaudhuri, which is a collection of a column he wrote for a newspaper, I found an article, a couple of articles in fact, about cricketers. I found the one about Sir Geoffery Boycott hilarious. The essay makes him sound like the main character of a satire about people who take themselves too seriously. I looked up and found the article on the internet. I realised that this was written in 2000 when T20 was not even conceived in the imagination of Indian cricket fans. Twenty four years is a lot. It makes me wonder if Chaudhuri is still interested in cricketers.
